Podiatry is the medical discipline that studies the foot anatomy and pathologies through instrumental analysis such as the podoscope examination and the baropodometric examination; it identifies and treats various pathologies such as ingrown toenails, calluses, warts and black nails.
Among the pathologies that are treated in this branch of medicine there are also the study of painful foot conditions, nail pathologies and finger deformations or malformations such as the hallux valgus and the hammer toe, active or passive rehabilitation using orthopaedic insoles or other equipment.
