Pain management (or Algology) is a medical speciality that treats chronic pain, the pain that persists over time. This type of pain is considered a real disease as it alters the person’s life quality.
First of all, pain management involves a diagnosis, then the patient is taken care of by therapists who are experts in medical and pharmacological techniques in pain solution.
Examples of pathologies treated are: trigeminal neuralgia, long term facial pain, spinal column pain (cervicalgia, dorsalgia, lumbago), herniated disc, radiculopathy or nerve root inflammation (sciatica or brachialgia), coccydynia, pudendal neuralgia, tumour related pain, pain that appears after surgery, joint pain, post-herpetic neuralgia, pain related to neurological illnesses.
