NEURO ORTHOPAEDIA

Functional surgery is a branch of neuro-orthopaedia, a super specialisation that is aimed to correct deformities to the lower and/or upper limbs due to central nervous system injury (stroke, head injury, myelo-lesion, infant cerebral palsy).
Functional surgery is the result of a programme within a rehabilitation project defined by a competent team of a physiatrist, neuro-orthopaedic surgeon, physiotherapist, patient and his family members.

The following services are provided at the Sol et Salus Hospital:

– muscle-tendon extensions;
– muscle tendon transfer;
– tenotomy;

These treatments can be performed on the shoulder, elbow, hand, hip, knee and foot.

Where necessary check-ups are provided to monitor both clinical and instrumental surgical results as well as surgical at the Movement and Biomechanical Analysis Laboratory.
