 Description and department location
The department is located on the second floor. From the reception area one must go up to the surgery and orthopaedic rehabilitation department using either the lift or the double railed staircase. All lifts allow access to patients on stretcher or in wheelchairs. It is divided into welcoming and comfortable areas in order to reduce the patients surgical stress and help improve visits from relatives and general assistance. Each hospital room has two beds and a bathroom equipped for disabled patients. Patients treated in day surgery have a dedicated area with appropriate armchairs designed to best help with the post-surgical phase. The department is equipped with air conditioning in all rooms. Room lockers are provided with a key which the patient keeps. Each room is set up in order to have a TV and telephone which can be requested from the Health Directorate.
